The Beginning And End of Saheeh al-Bukhaaree

Imaam Muhammad bin Isma’eel al-Bukhaaree rahimahullaah began his Saheeh with a single hadeeth – which serves as an introduction to the book and as an indication that every action not done for Allaah’s Face alone is void! (Sincerity in actions is what is meant)
The first hadeeth is as follows: Narrated ‘Umar bin Al-Khattaab: I heard Allaah’s Messenger (salAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) saying, “The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended. So whoever emigrated for worldly benefits or for a woman to marry, his emigration was for what he emigrated for.”
And he (Imaam Bukhaaree) ended his collection with tasbeeh which serves as an expiation for what is between the book!
The last hadeeth is as follows: Narrated Aboo Hurayrah: The Prophet (salAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “(There are) two words which are dear to ar-Rahmaan and very light (easy) for the tongue (to say), but very heavy in weight in the scale. They are: ”Subhaan Allaahi wa-bihamdihi – Subhaan Allaahil-`Adheem.”
