The Permissibility of the Making the Intention to Fast While in a State of Impurity

June 24, 2014 § 1 Comment

The Faqeeh of our time, Shaykh Abu Abdullaah Muhammad ibn Saalih ibn ‘Uthaymeen: “It is permissible for the fasting person to make his intention to fast WHILE he is in a state of impurity (i.e. he is junub) then he can make the ghusl so as to pray fajr.”

‘Aaishah (radhiAllaahu anhaa) reported: The Messenger of Allaah (salaah and salaam of Allaah be upon him) would wake up at Fajr time in a state of Janabah; so he would take bath before dawn and observe fasting. [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
