Taqwaa And Some Of Its Benefits

Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen ( رحمه الله تعالى): ‘O You Muslims in the east and the west of the earth, indeed I advise you all and myself with Taqwa of Allaah ‘azza wa jall.

And Taqwa is taking a shield/protection from the punishment of Allaah; and that is done by obeying His Commands and staying away from His Prohibitions. And Taqwa is the admonishment which Allaah has prescribed this Ummah with and those who have preceded it.

Allaah, The Exalted, said: “And certainly We have instructed those who were given the Scripture before you and yourselves to fear Allaah.” [Soorah an-Nisaa (4): 131]

And Taqwaa has great benefits that Allaah, the Most High, has mentioned in His Mighty Book (i.e. the Qur’aan) and from the most important of it is His Statement, the Exalted: “O you who have believed, if you fear Allaah , He will grant you a criterion and will remove from you your misdeeds and forgive you. And Allaah is the possessor of great bounty.” [Soorah al-Anfaal (8): 29]

And the statement of Allaah, the Most High: “And whoever fears Allaah – He will make for him a way out. And will provide for him from where he does not expect.” [Soorah at-Talaaq (65): 2-3] And also His Statement: “And whoever fears Allaah – He will make for him of his matter ease.” [Soorah at-Talaaq (65): 4]

And His Statement, the Exalted: “O you who have believed, fear Allaah and speak words of appropriate justice. He will [then] amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allaah and His Messenger has certainly attained a great attainment.” [Soorah al-Ahzaab (33): 70 -71]’
